Our Approach

Convening Communities

Vici Ladeji Women’s Enterprise Consortium (WEC) provides a user friendly forum for those interested in the future development of women’s economic development and enterprise. Our multi-disciplinary, cross-sector approach and our links with some of the world’s best research institutions mean that WEC is uniquely placed to offer an international perspective on the women’s entrepreneurship issues. The consortium has the capacity to link over 3000 women owned businesses with teams of researchers across a number of institutions.

Working Together

WEC can facilitate the development of dynamic working groups where academic researchers, women entrepreneurs and policy makers can collaborate on specific areas of interest.

Supporting and Promoting Research

WEC is currently supporting leading-edge research projects, between academics and women’s enterprise support practitioners and is delighted to be a gold sponsor of the annual UK Institute of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference (ISBE) Women’s Enterprise Track.

Policy and Strategy Influencing

WEC works closely with a variety of government departments, local authorities and third sector bodies in developing and implementing policy and strategy on enterprise and equality issues. Its members contribute to a large number of consultations, calls for evidence, commissions and enquiries.
